OCLC will participate in the ALA/CLA conference June 19-25. Register
online today for any of the special information sessions scheduled, and
plan to visit OCLC booth #1929 to ask questions and see demonstrations
of the latest OCLC services and software.
The Ned R. McWherter Library, University of Memphis, enters 127 millionth
request into OCLC ILL Service
Input on June 10, 2003, the request was for the book Cognitive
Neuropsychology in Clinical Practice and was filled by the Thomas
Cooper Library, University of South Carolina, on June 11. More than 6,000
libraries use the OCLC Interlibrary Loan service, which began operation
in 1979.

Connexion client to debut later in 2003
OCLC is extending the Connexion client introduction timeline beyond the
original date of June 30, 2003 to late 2003. This will allow OCLC time
to make changes suggested by field test libraries and to implement performance
improvements necessary to meet OCLC standards. As a result of the new
release timeframe, Passport software for cataloging will continue to operate
beyond the announced retirement date of December 31, 2003. OCLC will provide
libraries with at least six months advance notice of a new retirement
date for Passport.

Every 12 seconds an OCLC member library adds a new record to WorldCat, which contains more than 52 million records representing 887,334,989 holding locations as of June 14, 2003. Every 4 seconds an OCLC member library fills an interlibrary loan request using WorldCat, which has supported 127,103,642 interlibrary loan requests as of June 14, 2003. A library user searches WorldCat using the OCLC FirstSearch service every second.
