Mark your calendars for DC-2003

2003 Dublin Core Conference:
Supporting communities of discourse and practice:
Metadata research & applications

To be held in Seattle, Washington, Sept. 28-Oct. 2, the conference provides participants with a forum for intensive interaction with researchers, practitioners and decision-makers concerned with advances in metadata for resource discovery, retrieval, management and use. Researchers will share inquiries, methodologies and results from their latest studies and system implementers will share application developments and display their tools through the DC-Lab. The scope of the conference is not confined to the Dublin Core metadata element set but extends across all metadata schemas and application domains.

Help shape OCLC's direction

Take a look at the OCLC Members Council plan for 2003-2004

The OCLC Members Council 2003/2004 Annual Plan is now available on the OCLC Web site. Prepared by the Members Council Executive Committee at the beginning of each Council year, the eight-page plan includes proposed questions and objectives for each meeting as well as related activities and deliberations. As one of two governance bodies representing the OCLC global cooperative, Members Council helps shape the direction of OCLC and libraries by serving as a key strategic discussion forum and the major communications link among member libraries, network and service centers, delegates, the Board of Trustees and OCLC management.
